OK , so while searching online , I came across this :-

an account of the development and service career of the Brewster SB2A Buccaneer / Bermuda .
On page 15 I came across the attached image , which appears to be an earlier version of the P-37 .
Note the overall similarity to the earlier SBA-1 , built by the Naval Aircraft Factory as the SBN-1 . . .
