Variously called, the Bofors 120/50 M/60Ty (Tyskland = Germany) was a Bofors late 1950's project for a new generation 120 mm ship mounted autocannon, replacing their twin barrel system from 1950, instead opting for a single barrel system with double the rate of fire. The German Navy showed interest and ordered a prototype for a destroyer but that's about it. Anyone have any more info?

Just saw that one of the images i posted say development started in 1956, so i was kinda right above.

ah yes sorry, i tend to forget what I've promised to post.

But in Siegfried Breyer's and Gerhard Koop's Die Schiffe und Fahrzeuge der deutschen Bundesmarine 1956-1976, the 120mm gun is discussed on two occasions, one in chapter about weapons and eletronics, another time with regarding ships.

Here are the afromentioned sections (I hope this doesent go against copyright)

There is no copyright in research. Can u make some rough TLDR translations?

The 120mm Bofors was the weapon originally planned for the Hamburg and Koln classes but it wasn't ready in time so the French 100mm was used instead. The 120mm gun continued to be considered for follow on ship designs in the 1959-62 period.
