Bofors 120 mm Automatic Gun L/50 M/60Ty

Variously called, the Bofors 120/50 M/60Ty (Tyskland = Germany) was a Bofors late 1950's project for a new generation 120 mm ship mounted autocannon, replacing their twin barrel system from 1950, instead opting for a single barrel system with double the rate of fire. The German Navy showed interest and ordered a prototype for a destroyer but that's about it. Anyone have any more info?

I should note that the gun appears in drawn form in their 1958 catalogue (see image 1). So the project probably dates back to around 1955 following the launch of the the twin barrel system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors_120_mm_Naval_Automatic_Gun_L/50

Great Finds. They are indeed mentioned in German references for Hamburg and its follow-on classes, I can dig up some references once Im back at home

But in Siegfried Breyer's and Gerhard Koop's Die Schiffe und Fahrzeuge der deutschen Bundesmarine 1956-1976, the 120mm gun is discussed on two occasions, one in chapter about weapons and eletronics, another time with regarding ships.

The 120mm Bofors was the weapon originally planned for the Hamburg and Koln classes but it wasn't ready in time so the French 100mm was used instead. The 120mm gun continued to be considered for follow on ship designs in the 1959-62 period.
