Boeing F-47 NGAD future name guessing

Sorry, mighty need to change the name of the topic, ok according to TWZ:

“They say it’s [the F-47] the most devastating plane, fighter jet ever,” Trump said. “They called it 47. If I don’t like it, I’m going to take the 47 off it.”

“I don’t know why they called it 47. We’ll have to think about that,” he continued. “But if I don’t like it, I’m going to take that 47 off.”
 
Well, he might bear a grudge on the 47 number, as used by Boeing, after his recent experience flying their 747 ;)

F-47 Mellisuga. Named for the bird it shares its RCS with.

They're also vicious, stabby, highly maneuverable and obsessed with fuel.

Interesting choice for a fighter jet program. Good luck to the DoW when would come the time to push through Congress scrutiny for a budget extension.

Am I to understand that the executive is not pleased with the emerging looks of this aircraft and may change the F-47 MDS designation into another number?

If this is true I have to say that’s an incremental headwind for this program, whatever it’s called. But we shall see.

Oh, come on. Paint the PacMin F/A-47 desk models glossy black with clean, beautiful [LO] gold stripes and gold-leaf do-dads on them. Models with frick'n lasers on the canopies. POTUS'll love it. One will be on the corner of the Resolute Desk by the next presser. Guaranteed!

So is this going to be called the F-47 "Phoenix"? Ive seen it referenced by name and on a patch.
 
Honestly.... I couldnt care less what they number it at this point.

Whatever they need to do to get it flying is all I care about. They could name it donald the duck and give it a golden mullet for all I care and Ill love it as long as it can do its job.

You can say what you will about the air force, but it kissed the right asses to get what it needed. The rest of the branches ought to learn.

History is chock full of people who sucked up to the right people to do what needs to be done or get into the right places to do what needs to be done. Even in the best of times this stuff happens.
 
I don't know, these two may elude to the Phoenix moniker.

Given the performance of the F-35, it's an open question whether the F-47 will be able to do its job.
 
Oh... trust the technicians. Honestly, I think the F35 is much better than the F22 in some aspects.

Ok. I mean you are entitled to your opinions.

I just dont happen to agree with them, but this is neither the time nor place to expound upon it (if it doesnt concern the F-47)

I really dont expect a major fighter development program to be on time, and even now when Boeing in my opinion is getting better under kelly ortberg, there are a lot of inherited issues that have either yet to surface or fester thanks to the current state of things. Institutional inertia isnt easy to change.

As long as the delays arent horrible then Im willing to tone down my outrage and complaining. Nothing is ever as easy or straightforward as it appears on the surface.

Im cautiously optimistic but Im not overtly hopeful.

I'd trust the technicians, who've worked both aircraft, and strictly from a serviceability standpoint. But that's it.

The F-35 was explicitly required to have all major components only one component deep. Never have to remove something else just to pull the broken part!

Working as a mechanic, I'd sell my soul for that on other planes.
