Boeing C-17 - 35 years on this day

On this day 35 years ago, the then McDonnell Douglas C-17 flew

and last week I saw one of the first production C-17A 89-1189 with the 911th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Command based at Pittsburgh, departing RAF Mildenhall so my photos below.

one of my relatives was an engineer for this plane, back when it was McDonnell Douglas at Long Beach.
Me being young, told him "I wish you built F-15s instead" lol. These days I see C-17s on the tarmac all the time, wondering where they will be off to next.
