The A-57 was to be a flying boat weighting 705,280 lb (320,000 kg) with a maximum speed of 1,350 knots (2500 km/h)(subsonic speed with RSS missile) and a range 14000 km.As far as aerodynamic configuration was concerned, the A-57 was flying wing with a surface area 8 128 square feet, a length 228 ft and wing span 57 ft 5 inches.Power system considered of five Kuznetsov NK-10B engines. The engines were arranged in a common compartment between the tailfins in the rear part of fuselage. A wealth of equipment consisted of an SVR-1 radar, Roza and Venik active jamming systems, TRS-45 passive jamming unit, Veter navigation system, as well as Okhotsk hydroacoustic system for communication and identification of the submarine tanker.
