Sooo, I've already been roasted across social media by certain goobers but a lot of people enjoyed it. Here's a hypothetical and dramatized look at a potential NGAD competitor that I worked on in Blender and photoshop :3.

All these concepts are great, keeps things fun! Very nice work!

I didn't roast you, I just pointed out specific problematic areas, such as the area on the top of the nose where it meets the canopy for improved aero. I quite like what you put together here. ;)

You have a very "early 90s" look you give to your renders that I love.
It reminds me of the photos of the YF-22 and YF-23 fly-off and leaves me with this feeling that I just happened to find a bunch of old pictures of a classified project.
Very cool!

Yeah, the nose/canopy interface makes my eye twitch too but the rest of it is pretty sweet.

1. pilots will love the over-the-nose visibility for carrier landings, but the aero guys not so much.
2. change the livery to US Navy and I think you have an amazing Project_Fear rendering.

Q: curious... what leading and trailing edge sweep angles did you come up? I want to compare with my pencil sketch.

Too big for the Navy I think lol, Leading, 57.8, Trailing, -30.0

Yeah think the nose/ cockpit area would be more F22/F23ish, but what the heck we're all guessing here..

Countdown to TWZ or another aggregator stealing this and declaring it real in 3...2...1... :p

Remember that the carrier dimension limits are ~85x55, and you can technically hang half an airframe out over the outboard edge of the elevators with the main landing gear at the edge.

Though the controlling limits are weight, not length/width. ~90-100k catapult limit, 55k landing limit. I think we're talking 40klbs empty, 96klbs MTOW. ~28,000lbs fuel. Typical mission takeoff weight of about 80klbs.

I think he meant planform angles!

Cool Klingon fighter. :p

Everybody wave at Tyler! :D

Best fit as far as I can see.
Details are debateable but we have no clue for any of these so it's pointess to bicker on these atm.
But I've to address the placement of the refueling "hole". It's too close to the canopy. A litte accident would damage the cockpit forcing an emergency landing.

Actually, I personally hope its radar will be a bit bigger. But it still looks pretty good. :)

That's why it has canards. The Rafale has a higher sweep angle than every supersonic aircraft to ever fly with the US Navy. Yet the Rafale operates perfectly from the French carrier. The Rafale also has a minor 8% weight gain for carrier version which is amazing. Nearly no performance is lost to make the design carrier capable.

A delta wing with canards allows for supercruise while still maintaining a low landing speed. A variable geometry wing also provides great high and low speed performance however if you also add stealth to the requirement then a delta wing with canards is by far the best layout for a stealth naval aircraft.
