Arado Ar 340

Hello guys,

here is the well-known Ar340, showing two engine configurations: Jumo 222 and DB 604, with apparently no change in external appearance.

Second image relates to several flying cabins ( Kanzel or Kampfkopf ) proposed/studied for this interesting "paper bird", also the wouldbe speed with two different engines. So much for the "Bomber B" programme.

What would be the aerodynamic advantage of the twin tails version?
It should be very compelling to offset the obvious structural disadvantage....
Or is this not really a serious project?

Yes it's a very abnormal design. ???
Gunner's rear view is excellent.

Yes, almost certainly for the gun position. The field of fire for the fuselage guns might even be better than the ones in the tailbooms!
