Holy cr*p :D
And only 10,000 dollars, for THAT

Cheers,

Though it says you have to dismantle it to a value no higher than the base materials :(

I'm...frustrated

I used to live not far from where it is now stored. Anyone know more about the semi-submersible 'hangar ship' that is shown in the auction listing?

Two questions:
1. Can this fit into the well of a LHD?

2. Should USSOCOM use it for stealthy ops?

Don't need the LHD, the "Hughes Mining Barge" comes with the "Ex-Sea Shadow" ;)

If the auction didn't specifically "require" the Ex-Sea Shadow to be dismantled to "base materials" that second question might be relevent :)

1. No. Sea Shadow is nearly 20 feet wider than an LHD's well deck. and has a much deeper draft than a flooded well deck. It's also probably too tall.

2. No. Sea Shadow was designed and built as an experimental vessel, not a combat vessel. It has no provision for launching or recovering small boats, for starters.

There has been plenty of other reported work on LO boats for special operations.
