Interesting perhaps but, breathing pure O2 for more than thirty minutes (Some sources state a whole hour)? How does that qualify for a breath holding record?

As O2 is the key to this pre-breathing pure O2 prior to saturate your system with maximum O2 is allowed so not sure the issue with it.

Oxygen toxicity is also a possibility--there is such a thing as "shock lung" that was associated with the rise of oxygen bars.
Not for nothing did anaerobic life forms plunge below. Oxygen breathers like us--we are like alcoholics. Don't give one any more drink--he could die of DTs...but over time...it kills him.
