The first production test flights of the twin-engine H135 helicopters for Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program are complete - marking a major milestone toward preparing the next generation of Royal Canadian Air Force pilots.
The twin-engine H135s provide real world immersion to the current operational RCAF fleet, and advanced technology that will help to better prepare pilots of the RCAF with the skills needed on the front lines. These H135s are the first of the 19 aircraft that will deliver modern, comprehensive training to the men and women who will protect our skies and serve on missions at home and abroad for decades to come.

It is a great training helicopter if you don't want to do slope landings and autorotation. That was one of the reasons the U.S. Army is looking to replace their training fleet. However, to be fair, they have flown the rotor blades off the darn things and the maintenance is getting more expensive.

True mind you though US Army uses the UH-72A LAkota which is EC145 / BK117C2 but valid points of no autorotation and fairing cowling could be damaged during autoroation for both 135 and 145.

Initially the US Army Aviation has a notion that their fleet is all multi engine so why bother with going solo in a single engine trainer so hence why UH-72A Lakota had another mission at Mother Rucker to train pilots. in the last decade replacing the TH-67 Creek.
