I am able to access this site from my workplace laptop using Win11+Edge ....

But earlier, I am stucked with "verification that I am a human" page from my home laptop using Win10+Chrome, regardless of how many times I checked the catcha box ..... will try again later at home after clearing the cache .....

I've found for some reason my Samsung phone can access the site fairly quickly. From Firefox on a Win11 running computer there's a slight delay, from my Samsung tablet the Cloudflare just hangs and they are all connected to the same internet point.

Are you signed into the site? If you are, you generally shouldn't ever see the Cloudflare challenge.

Hmm, that is odd. What browser is the Samsung tablet using? Is it old?

I can get here with a Samsung tablet and Opera. Not using a VPN.

When on a computer you should only get a challenge about once a week.

However I noticed on mobile it was happening more often - this can happen.

If you use a VPN or Mobile private IP where you IP changes often, Cloudflare may consider you sufficiently changed to issue a new challenge. This is to prevent spammers solving the check once then using the same cookie on thousands of different IP addresses.

I usually get challenged only the once on my mobile usually after I’ve cleared the browser history.

PhysOrg is usually okay as-is on this Chrome browser, but onward links to article references are often tediously cloud-flared until the system decides I'm sufficiently human.

Someone reading science articles? Can't be a human...

Down-side is that PhysOrg will not flag onward links as 'Open Access' or 'Via Log-In'.

So, you go through the usual thumb-twirling ritual, only to find content is pay-walled or 'via institution' or the like...
Too many such do not offer arXiv pre-prints.

I collect lots of Sci/Tech items and, if accessible, their original articles as back-ground material for my 'hard-ish' SciFi tale in progress: 'City of Fresno', tossed far, far from home by running through a recurring nova's 'gravitational focus', is currently up to ~ 135 chapters.

It's unfortunate that I need to activate Javascript now to access and view the forum, ... If it's possible to implement a measure that does not rely on Javascript in the future, that would be preferable.

Agreed. But if you use the Mozilla Firefox browser with the NoScript extension, you can allow Javascript from the forum while continuing to block all others.
