I've tried to clean and especially dewarp the drawing,
but simply redrawing was easier.

Bugger! Beat me to it!

Looks interesting, RAF wouldn't go for it though, only two engines. Atlantique replacement methinks. French wouldn't go for it either...

But mentioning the Atlantique could be a good clue ! Maybe there is more,
than just a superficial similarity and the Aeritalia design was based on the
Atlantique fuselage ? The cross section is very similar, too.

Aeritalia was part of the SECBAT (Société Européenne pour la Construction du Breguet Atlantic) consortium,
so use of components for a successor doesn't seem impossible to me. The position of the tiny nosewheel
could be regarded as another evidence. Other opinions ?
