I should add that at least one example of the Allison V-3420 engine proposed for use in the MCD 392--a combined pair of 'standard' V-1710 engine blocks--still exists. Photos were recently published on Hyperscale.com showing the engine on display at the most recent air races in Reno, Nevada.
