WW2 multiple rocket launcher mounted on a Sherman M4A1 for testing and demonstration in Italy.The device appears to be an almost homemade field improvisation more than a production one.The thumbnail of the picture is dates Décembre 19,1944.The inclination of the Platforms containing the tubes seems to be managed by the mouvement of the gun of the tank.(https://www.theshermantank.com/category/76mm-m1a1a2/)

If I had to guess, those would be M10 triple-tube rocket launcher shooting 4.5 inch rockets; mainly carried by the P-47.

The T40/M17 Whiz-Bang rocket launcher proved so troublesome in use in Italy in the autumn of 1944 that local ordnance units developed a fix using 4.5 inch aviation rockets. The roof of the M17 launcher was removed, the front door welded open, and 54 aircraft rocket launch tubes in triple bundles were mounted on the launcher frame. These improvised launchers were used by the 752nd and 760th Tank Battalions. This tank is named "Arlene IlI" .(US Armored Funnies -Steven J. Zaloga-2005).
