It`s been a while since I keep this potentially brisky item in my archive. It cost me a fortune ordering it from Freiburg (Bundesarchiv/Militärarchiv, RM24/748), along with it`s bigger sisters, but now I feel confortable to share it. It`s from 1942, a Krupp proposal sporting a double 50mm FlaK (almost certainly an iteration of the Gerät 46K. The ammo clips fed sideways). The Marinewaffenamt considered the proposal but didn`t compromised to accept it. At about this time the germans were considering that 5cm wasn`t what they wanted in the "zwishenkaliberwaffen" and they switched to 5,5cm.

Hi Tony. No, this was the Krupp contestant. The one that would evolve into the Flak 41 was the Rheinmetall Gerät 56 (actually the V2). There were two more tenders: Mauser (Gerät 56 M) and Gustloff (Gerät 56 G).

All the Gerät 56 family used the same 50x347 ammo.
Gerät 56K (land version only). It`s my personnal assumption that this double 50mm is also a Krupp ordnance item.
Weight: 550 kg
Traverse: 360º
Elevation: -15º/+105º
Feed: 6 round clips
Mv: 840 m/sec
RoF: 135 rpm

Four round clips, not matching the 6 round land version Krupp Gerät 56K. The Flak 41 had 5-round clips, as well as the Rheinmetall Gerät 56 V1a. The Gustloff Gerät 56 G had a 4-round clip, and the Mauser Gerät 56 M had a 6-round clip.
