In 1946 Miles Aircraft proposed the M.70 to meet Spec T.7/45 for a turboprop-powered trainer.
They went for a low-powered approach and proposed three engines:
500hp Alvis Leonides piston engine
500shp Napier E.127 Nymph turboprop (design work began May 1945 and only bench tested)
500shp Bristol turboprop

Does anyone have any information on the Bristol design? Is any designation known and did it even reach the bench trials stage?

The only other British turboprop design of the period of the same rating I can think of is the Halford H.3, another 500shp design which was bench run in 1946, and perhaps surprisingly was not considered by Miles for the M.70.
