If satellites had personalities, DSCOVR would be a scrappy little fighter: battered, bloody, but...
The US Navy has (re) launched (August 2021) the Screaming Arrow prototyping effort after withdrawing the prior outreach to industry back in March. Wanted to start a dedicated thread to discuss what the Navy is asking for here since they have provided a notional set of requirements and are...
I have come across an article from Air Force Magazine (link below) about the F-5 dated December 1964 that briefly talks about two variants of the F-5 apparently being offered at the time.
First, an improved F-5A with slightly higher thrust ("J85-13/J5", 4300 lbf, 220 lbf higher than the...
I understand there was a proposal to reactivate two CA-134 Class Heavy Cruisers (probably USS Des Moines and USS Salem) in place of or in additional to the Iowa Class reactivations. Below are two of the concepts I have found. However, I was wondering if there are any more details out there...

I have come across these pictures of McDonnell Douglas F-101B Voodoo Serial Number 57-0272 with a strange under nose sensor and carrying a MiM-23 Hawk missile.
It is late 60's or early 70's from my guess.
Does anyone have any more information on this project, its name and what was being tried?
Once again, I've come across this 'official' Grumman 'Ranger' missile cutaway desktop model, which I've never seen or heard of before.
On the page it's from, it states
