Agreed that the most likely next step after a blockade is an amphibious assault.
Which is why 7th Fleet and SUBPAC are keeping a close eye on what's going on. Declaring a blockade would probably very quickly result in SUBPAC declaring unrestricted submarine warfare.

During the Cold War the US developed a series of exercises designed to bring Army (REFORGER) and Air Force (Crested Cap) units from the States to Europe.
At what point should the US consider doing the same for Taiwan?
Here is a list to my knowledge of what warship designs were offered to the Chinese Navy before the Cold War, before it became the People's Republic of China. This includes the Qing Dynasty, Republic of China and Nationalist China (Chiang Kai-Shek's Clique).
The warship designs as follows...
A couple of images I found in old H.D. for a second batch of Kwang Hua I program.

There was some rumbling recently about a new "carrier killer" ship concept from Taiwan, supposed leaked recently, though it isn't a full up project yet from what I understand. Visually similar to the chinese wave piercing catamaran that is operating now.
Just as I thought I have recognised a model of this fighter proposal at TsrJoe's tread (http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2019.msg17221/topicseen.html#msg17221)
I was searching for some more on this unknown project. .... sadly that was all I found: ???
