I think they should call it the Super Marine, just to really confuse anyone who has any passing knowledge of aviation history. I think the talk about a selection being made is just a reference to the Navy having made a decision. Now they have to see if the administration agrees with it or is going to go their own way.

F/A-46, as tribute to trump's birthday, but if the navy is in the ass kissing business they should really go for F/A-80, to commemorate trump's bday this year. this will ensure it shoots to the top of the list to come out this year as there's no point to commemorate bday this year but breaking cover next year. I really don't care what it's called as long as I get to see it sooner than later

Yes absolutely. Its too bad that they dont paint stealth fighters that way anymore. They painted one of the old hornets the retro three tone livery once.

For namesake I would imagine that numbers 47-49 were allowed for the three contractors in the PCA effort of NGAD. So 50-52 for F/A-XX? Alphabetical assignment in order 50 B, 51 LM, 52 NG. If not Boeing's Wasp it'll be Northrop Grumman's Tomcat II.
