..have mentioned before Ukr up to date & historical radar data would be a great basis for future AD M&S. Whi controls the data matters. The Ukrs r selling drone engagement video footage for others to teach their ATRecog algorithms. Current & historical eastern European front AD radar data w/some PACOM theatre add ons/terrain adjustments could really render some great future AD development models one could imagine. As whatismoo states "Stinger can be used for BMD." Follow on to Stinger may actually be necessary for BMD. Charcuterizing future radar needs r going to be very important as opposed to continuing the hodge pogde. It is unlikely that threats encompassing everything from single mortar & rocket atks to irbms delivered as asymmetric threats over time is being closely assessed. Existing recorded radar data which can be used as a basis for creating future requirements is just waiting.

At about the 1: 13 discussion goes future offensive defensive common capabilities which lends itself to many previous posts on how a common missile form factor/family was explored by the US Army but
never pursued.

X-Bow Unveils Sub-$100K Buckler Supersonic Drone Interceptor

The company says its surface-to-air missile can defeat Shahed-like drones at a fraction of the cost of many missiles in current service.

Called "The Buckler". Swashbuckler?

X-Bow Unveils New Low-Cost “Supersonic” Interceptor

Medieval missiles: The Buckler—named after a small shield a medieval defender would use to parry and deflect an incoming blow—takes the startup’s know-how in rocket motor-making and propulsion into the white-hot interceptor world.
  • X-Bow is building the Buckler’s airframe, solid-rocket motor, and propellant all in-house. The company says that vertical integration is aimed at solving the “industrial-base bottleneck defense leaders cite as the top constraint on scaling interceptors.”
  • It’s designed to take out Group 3 drones (like the Shahed-136 UAVs that have wreaked havoc and strained exquisite interceptor stockpiles in Ukraine and the Middle East) “at supersonic speeds,” according to X-Bow, at a sub-$100,000 price point.
  • It can also take out rotary aircraft and provide point-defense against light cruise missiles, the company told Tectonic, and it’s already been flown in flight tests.

As far as I can tell, Boeing/Anduril are the only one to present their solution out in the public. Lockheed has spoken of their work on OTA award but has never elaborated on what its proposal looks like or shared a mockup at an industry event. Rafale USA has said that a modified Tamir would be presented but they have not outlined the changes needed to convert that into a medium range (AIM-120 AMRAAM class performance) capability. We can expect the Army to chose the teams that go through into prototyping by the end of the fall / year.
