In 1978 author Robert Sheckley's novel 'Crompton Divided' (In the UK 'The Alchemical Marriage of Alistair Crompton'.) was released. The US publisher went with a cover by Carl Lundgren (Sourced from the ISFDB) and the UK publisher went with Peter Elson who clearly had some fun with the artwork (Sourced from the artists memorial website). A careful look at the background shows the entire scene is inside a gigantic dome and then there is where his initials are.... He'd also clearly skimmed the book before starting work, the figure in the foreground is clearly the title character, the woman in the background his assistant, Miss Anachos.
