Larger ADF Budget

What if the Albanese government decides to expanded the defence budget to 3 - 4% to allow for the paying of the AUKUZ Subs and to allow the ADF to modernise, what would you like the ADF to get?
Eg:
ARMY
  • Increase the AS-21 Redback order back up to 450
  • The planned 2nd order of 30 AS9 & 15 AS10
  • Larger NASAM order
RAN
  • 2x Joint Supply Ships (That got cancelled)
  • 3x Hunter Class Ships (That got cancelled)
  • 8x Mine countermeasure and survey vessels based on the Arafura Class
RAAF
  • 28 F-35A (that got cancelled)
  • 1 more P-8A (15 were planned)
  • 1 more MC-55A (5 were planned)
  • 16 MQ-9B (that got cancelled)

These were replaced at least in part by the 12 EA18 Growlers and the upgrade of the Supers to Block 3 standard. I believe this leaves an opportunity to introduce 6th Gen aircraft in less than 20 years.

That is the plan I believe but with a bigger budget i would say it would be better to acquire the 28 f35 and then replace the super hornets and growers in 20s years. Cause I say ots more likely we wpuld need the aircraft in 5 to 10 years than 20 years

It's basically a preparation for yesterday's war again. No interest in air defenses, and very limited interest in drones.

I did state a larger NASAMS order and the MQ-9B as well. The RAAF has a current plan for an integrated air defence system which will include a long range SAM system probably Patriot.
For additionally air defence what about 30mm skyranger on the Boxer platform.

As I stated - yesterday's war. No mass-produced long-range strike drones, no infantry support drones, no mass-produced dedicated anti-drone systems. A token interest in heavy patrol drones only.

Already got the Ghost Bat UCAV & Ghost Shark AUV under development
Plus there is plenty of home made drones that could be brought such as
Defend Tec D40
Innovaero One Way Loitering (OWL) Munition (Has been developing since 2022
BAE Strix
Plus there is the Slinger Anti-Drone system developed by Electro Optic Systems that could be brought as well
 
Realistically, if the ADF continues to acquire the SSNs, an expansion of the ADF budget to 3 - 4% of GDP will be necessary just to hold the line. Right now the ADF budget is seriously under pressure. I am seeing first hand cut backs across the board (except the SSN budget obviously) and I know I am not the only one having discussed this with numerous people in uniform, CASG and industry. I wouldn't necessarily dream about new additional equipment but just being able to use/sustain what we have. I would also point out that in many cases, even if one was given new/additional platforms, the struggle will be (as it already is) the ability to use it - e.g. additional fighters are useless if one doesn't have enough pilots...
