Now as it pertains to aircraft, it'll be more nuanced. I suggest that a design that requires your eyes on a screen* when you're trying to land a rotorcraft in a forest is bad while a design that requires your eyes out the window at mach 3 and 30 km altitude is bad.

*Though some of the recent parking tech with 360-degree cameras looks promising, finding a static slot at the supermarket car park is not quite the same as landing in the middle of a battle.

Japanese automaker Nissan is developing new self-driving technology as it works to turn around its struggling auto business.

In a recent demonstration of the technology, set to be available in 2027, a Nissan Ariya sedan outfitted with 11 cameras, five radars and a next-generation sensor called LiDAR maneuvered its way through downtown Tokyo, braking for red lights as well as pedestrians and other cars at intersections.

Previous Nissan self-driving technology was designed for freeway driving, where the lanes are clearly marked and easier to decipher. The new technology is designed for congested, unpredictable city streets.

A Florida pick-up truck driver performed a burnout in front of police in an attempt to “impress girls”, officers said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, 16 September.

Bradenton Police Department said they were patrolling downtown in the city when they heard a vehicle rev its engine and saw a silver pickup traveling at high speed.

Police said Juan Leon, 28, swerved, avoiding the officers and pedestrians, but encountered a red light and opted to do a burnout, later telling officers, "to impress girls."

Drivers in Florida are demanding refunds after an investigation revealed that a faulty speed camera program cost motorists over $700,000 in fines.

The now-defunct scheme was established in Palm Bay, a city southeast of Orlando, and resulted in nearly 16,000 people receiving citations.

In records obtained by Fox35 Orlando, the initiative generated a profit of $347,535 for the City of Palm Bay before it was shut down in August.

Gardaí in Kilkenny seized a car that was being driven ‘with impunity’ by a disqualified driver without tax or insurance — and nearly without a dashboard.

After receiving reports that a blue VW Polo was being driven without tax, an NCT or insurance around Jonestown in Co Kilkenny, Gardaí managed to track down the car — where they learned that the driver was disqualified.

Joking on their Facebook page that they make ‘no aPOLOgies’ in reference to the Polo, the dashboard of the car also became a talking point — being worn down at the steering wheel and being covered by a plastic bag, with one person commenting ‘did he try to eat the dashboard?’

A 10-month-old baby was in a car as it allegedly clocked 168km/h on the Pacific Highway on Tuesday, sparking a high-speed police chase in which a pregnant teenage driver is accused of crashing into another vehicle and swerving to avoid road spikes before being arrested after abandoning the vehicle.


Kirsty Lee Parker, 19, was refused bail on Wednesday after allegedly driving the Volkswagen sedan that police attempted to stop on the M1 near Gosford on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a pursuit that was eventually abandoned amid safety concerns after a passenger climbed out of the window to film the chase.

Passengers are heard excitedly yelling and swearing at police in footage livestreamed on social media, with one video showing the baby in a car seat while loud music plays through the speakers. One passenger is sitting on the floor of the back seat.
