While rummaging in Discovery, The National Archives' catalogue search engine, after about ten searches I get this:

Has anyone else had this? Or am I a wrong 'un?

I'm going in today so will ask what's going on.

Chris

I first noticed it about a month ago and put it down to a setting on our new broadband kit, which the missus has been moaning about as you can't get onto wine sites.

However, I tried it this morning at my pied a terre in London and got the same.

I'll report back once the 0930 stampede has ended.

Just tried it, happened to me. Totally locks the Discovery page. I also tried while being logged in and the same thing happened.
I suspect it's a timeout feature to reduce traffic (possibly an anti-AI bot feature?)

There is an unfortunate overlap between the efforts of the less-enthusiastic bots, and of the more enthusiastic humans.

I've noticed an awful lot of sites running Cloudflare now that didn't even six months ago. It's enough to make you wish for the internet of twenty years ago, dodgy Geocities sites and all.

Searches seem OK now.

I'll be in the National Archives on Friday (2nd Jan) if anyone fancies a pint and a blah after a hard day's rummaging, PM me.
