Was an auto abort and will be looking at the backup dates of the 9th & 10th December.

 
And it aborted again at the same place: T-1.3 seconds.

Edit: the Raptors don't seem to be very happy with something about this test.

Edit 2: and that's it for today.

I think you got something mixed up. They haven't even done anything yet today.

OK, the YouTube app on my TV is officially useless. It showed me what it claimed was a livestream but was obviously a rerun of yesterday. Sorry, all.

I've noticed some channels will steal other channel's content and rerun them as "live".

Nope, my own screwup. I went to the SpaceX channel on my TV's YouTube app. It's way less informative than the usual computer screen and didn't give me a hint that I was seeing a replay.
 
I did the exact same thing when I first loaded the feed this morning; you just beat me to posting.
 
There’s two NASA T-38s over Brownsville apparently.

Well that’s one way of landing. Looks like with the Falcon 9 development it’s going to be landing that’s tricky.

Please remember it’s destruction is utterly irrelevant to the program other than the data gathered.
 
Expect to see SN9 roll out to pad pretty soon. If this one almost made it then I expect one of the next two to make it.
 
Apparently the header tank wasn't providing enough pressure which starved the engines during landing. But that's a relatively minor thing; the belly flop and aerodynamic control during freefall was amazing, along with the pull up and relight. They are like 90% of the way there in terms of controlling the re-entry and landing. Also the ship seemed to just hover with a bit of down range slide in a completely stable vertical maneuver under the power of a single engine for like a minute before the turn over. Their ability to make that ship move through complicated shifts in alignment is awesome; it really is a step above the Phalcon 9 re-entries.

Also looks like the landing legs never deployed, and those also take up a lot of the landing shock. Oh well, for most of it's flight it was frankly amazing. That bellyflop tho, that happened right quickly. Wonder how that would feel to a crew.
 
Nailed the landing!

Once they beat those Raptor's into submission, we're home free!

What a stable floater during decent, I saw little 'wing' deflection, seemed the vehicle is dynamically stable. Well done, SpaceX! And the pitch-up for landing was done with authority and precision, even as the engines acted up during that maneuver.

I think there were issue with raptor engines including a engine bay fire.
What I notice was this green exhaust of Last working engine
Again issue of engine rich combustion?

In an actually re-entry from space I don't think it would use that maneuver; I think it will set it's angle on a glide slope not unlike the space shuttle. I think that maneuver was necessary for the test to demonstrate the aerodynamics of the aero breaking maneuver and the transition to full vertical for the retro landing.
