R. Desmons/L.A.F. Aircraft and Projects

Hi,


the French designer M.R.Desmons was worked for L.A.F. (Ligue
Aeronautique Francaise),and in 1917 he built a biplane torpedo
bomber flying boat,with pusher engine,followed by No.1 &
No.2 heavy bomber projects,before that in 1916,he created the
Avion B bomber and a twin engined attack bomber projects.


Also in 1917,a combat twin engined aircraft project was appeared
with twin boom shape,and anther single engined attack bomber
project.


The torpedo bomber biplane with tractor engine project of 1917,
never saw the light,in 1925 came the single engined monoplane
twin hull project,it had a Model maybe for wind tunnel.


And again in 1925,a lightweight monoplane bomber with high-
shoulder-wing projected,proceeded with a twin boom attack
bomber powered by single engined,followed by a three engine
battle or combat bomber,all in the same year,remained a Projects
only.

Interesting use of hydrofoils as structural components connecting the floats. I wonder about stability though...

with a high cantilever wing and powered by one 40 hp Salmson engine.

Hi,


before I found this report,I knew only three aircraft to Desmons,the first was 1917 which actually
built,and the second of 1932 (reply # 4),and from Internet the third,it was a flying boat project
of 1920 ?.

The picture was wrong;

DESMONS:

The photo of a model of the Desmons does not correspond to the
aircraft of 1932, but more probably to a flying model made, perhaps,
before the First World War.

At the end of 1917, the French Aeronautical League financed the
creation of a prototype seaplane twin-hull torpedo boat and twin-
engine Renault 280hp propellants studied by Desmons. He will
perform a only attempted flight on June 28, 1918, ultimately resulting
in the damage to one of the hulls. It will never be repaired (see book
published by ARDHAN).
