I didnt think it would be possible to top the vid of second flight. But this seems to have beaten that vid. So awesome, and huge thanks to Shadow. ;D This picture is just amazing:

A truly amazing series of pics , many thanks to Shadowname for sharing them, and QuadroFX for putting them here :)

Now i know what i wanna see next , "52", then "53" and so on ... ;D

Thanks QuadroFX (-and Shadowname-) for these great pictures!
I think the PAK FA is the best fighter ever built...
I send my humble congratulations to the Russian people for this amazing machine.

Bravo!

:)

Anyway, thanks for contributing the pix. One of them just became my laptop's background.

I don't think he'll get slammed, just laughed at, since, atm, the PAK-FA isn't capable of shooting anything down. ;)
That said, it is a nice looking aircraft.

I still think it would be a nicer world if those two characteristics weren't in contradiction. Alas, poor reality...

Now *all* pictures have been uploaded, although resized here:

Did 51 flew again yesterday ? Nice picture from paralay (C) Garik... :)

four flights already were made by T-50 at Zhukovsky

Can we see some pictures of these new flights? :)
Is there any info regarding the results of the fighter test flight and evaluation, something which will affect shape or specs of the next prototype?
BTW, when will the next prototype be added? , a second flying prototype can accelerate the frequency of these test flights.

to my sorrow, I'm not [frequent] spotter and Pogosyan doesn't report directly to me...
regarding photos - those who expect spotters uploading original hi-reses in series, are rather naive - at least till T-50 will stay a rare sight, its photos will be either a subject of making profit, or a subject of man's egocentricity (think how you would behave in such a situation)

flights at LII were not without some glitches, though
second PAV should join test program till the end of 2010

I know about flights made on april 29th , may 14th and now yesterday ...can i ask when was the other one? was it the 28th of may ? ( i remember some discussion on paralay.com about radio-spotters missing "something"( ?) on the may 28th , but i'm not sure exactly how to interpret that... ( babelfish!)

Thanks.

Something was "50" = T-50. :)

Also, Flateric, could you shed some light on the Zvezda PAK-FA model situation? ??? I have been reading on the zvezda forums, and the folks (those who works in Zvezda) didn't seem happy about that the information was *very* limited on T-90 and PAK-FA...

there will be new Zvezda model molds, much closer to prototype after first unsuccessfull attempt of cooperation with Sukhoi on the subject (Zvezda wanted to be the first and was naive while thought that Sukhoi will give them engineering drawings prior the first flight and declassification of external shapes)
in result Sukhoi gave them something fantasy what-if - resembling that "Ka-58" story, now in regards to T-50
btw, Ka-58 was not 'so' far from real Kamov UVK Helicopter Strike System external shapes;) the same V-tail and faceting, at least

HAHA, that is great! :D

We have now enough pictures (and even great unofficial drawings) for Zvezda to make a rather accurate model. Heck, even the resin model looks close in general shapes, although there is small errors here and there. I look forward to Zvezda's attempt, theirs new releases are really really good. If they get the general shapes in order, that is good enough for me to buy 3-4 of them. ;D

well, S-37 shapes were deliberately modified for model due to 'security reasons', and even sizes of Berkut were never released officially to the date
not surprising - my friend struggling for years to get accurate S-80 drawings from Sukhoi (with no results)
I fear that the same things will be with T-50
so far a/c exact linear sizes still stay {S} (and this is official)

that's after Boeing gave Zvezda complete 3D database of 787 external shapes (for free!), scaled down and feeded directly in tooling machine, and they were assisting at every stage of model project
but...Lockheed Martin never gave factory drawings of Raptor to Italeri, Ravell and Tamiya as well (apart of they could find giant amount of useful stuff in open sources, what didn't help much in all cases)

However LM apparently provided the F-22 OML for either the 2003 Hulk or Iron Man movies (which one for sure escapes me at the moment).

This is just to let you guys know that the Russian Neomega has just released a 1/72 resin model of the T-50, found it on ebay-prrricey! But I'm already saving up, anyway.

Hi Gurus,
a) Whats the maximum altitude reached by the PAK-FA so far in its flight test program ?

b) Although Sukhoi is not going to exhibit PAK-FA at the Farnborough airshow, is Sukhoi/Pogosyan going to reveal any more details about the PAK-FA during this year's Farnborough 2010 airshow?

I am asking this because I faintly recall that last year, Pogosyan had made a statement that 'we will have more to say about the PAK-FA at the Farnborough airshow next July' (or something to that effect). I think the quotation is there on Flight International's report on day 1 of paris air show 2009 (http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2009/06/random-5-paris-air-show-day-1.html).

shorts from today's PM Putin visit to TsAGI:

- said to be 2.5-3 'times cheaper than analogs' and 'outperform F-22 in maneuverability, weapons, range (Putin) and 'morale'(joke from Bogdan)
- MoD will buy 'minimum 50' PAK FA starting 2016
- 30 bln. roubles to finish R&D (= 1 bln. USD)
- Bogdan did 12th and 13th flight on June,16 and demo flight today for PM, but some sources say that already 16 flights done in total (mistake, obviously). so count is 14 in real

just limited 'Kremlin pool' of mass-media was allowed to attend, and dedicated aerospace editions were not...

30 milliards i believe.
30 bln. roubles is still 30 billion roubles

The word "milliard", or its translation, is found in many European languages and is used in those languages for 109. However, it is unknown in American English, which uses billion, and not used in British English, which preferred to use 'thousand million' before the current usage of 'billion'. The financial term "yard", which derives from "milliard", is used on financial markets, as it is unambiguous, unlike "billion". Likewise, some long scale countries use a word similar to billiard for a thousand long scale billions (i.e. 1015), a word similar to trilliard for a thousand long scale trillions (i.e. 1021), etc.

Well, i am not going to argue forever, but here it says milliards:

http://www.ntv.ru/novosti/196001/

Here as well:

http://www.radiomayak.ru/doc.html?id=190201&cid=202

1 milliard = 1000 millions.
1 billiard = one million millions.

flanker, yes, we, old-style europeans, say 'milliard'
but most of the other English-speaking world use damn 'billions'

Annoying as hell. Billion uses the root Bi- or "two". Would make more sense if billion denoted two millions. Same goes for trillion.

Aha, confusing but now i get it. :)
