Why pigeons mean peril for satellite broadband

During the XST competition, several RCS tests had to be redone because of birds perching on the model, or leaving their droppings on it - this would massively increase the radar return.
So yes, it's likely a bird landing on a satellite dish (esp a small one like the Starlink dishes) would interfere with the signal.
