As someone who likes the appearance of different bits of military hardware I am often struck by how British some Soviet equipment looks.

The Mig 23/27 VG fighter bombers have a real Vickers BAC look. The fixed wing Su19/24 strike aircraft is TSR2 and the VG ones look like UKVGs with a generous budget.

The Ilyushin Il76 has shades of the Belfast jet versions or AW681. Paint it in Transport Command livery or Hercules brown and sand.

Missiles also come to mind. Sa4 Ganef is a tracked Bloodhound launcher while SA8 Gecko is the closest thing ever built to PT428.

The two Soviet SP guns of the 70s especially the SP74 122mm are like Abbot and some unbuilt designs. The BMD family could have emerged from Project Prodigal.

Even the RN gets in on the act. The sole SA 2 converted Swerdlow cruiser is the unbuilt 50s RN cruiser. The gorgeous Moskwa and Leningrad are the RN Escort Cruiser. But even after the Cold War the Astute class return the favour by looking like chubby Victor or Sierra class boats.
