Hrm. Subs only.

I really think we're at the point where you need heavyweight speed and range for airdropped and surface launched ASW torpedoes. Modern nuclear and lithium battery subs can have enough acceleration to outrun/exhaust even a Mk48 if you're not close enough at launch.

So, I'm thinking a ~1500lb ASW torpedo with reduced warhead and Mk48/Spearfish engine and fuel tank.
Might as well bring back the Mk37.

Might as well bring back the Mk37.
Or consider the Swedish 400mm ASW torpedo diameter. With the possible advent of smaller anti-torpedo torpedos for the low end, I could see the development of larger lightweight torpedos or shortened heavyweight torpedos suitable for underwater, surface or air launch.

Istif class grows to 12 ships...

I thought this amendment was for the weapon and sensor systems of ships 4-8, but instead it seems to be for an additional order of +4 I-class ships.

MİLGEM contract worth 421.5 million euros from ASELSAN! In the MİLGEM Combat Systems Contract, a contract amendment was signed with TAIS Joint Venture and STM Business Partnership, and MİLGEM 9-12 ships' combat systems and payloads were included in the contract.

Yeah tought maybe i we have a misunderstanding because of me.
Its width is 3 m where the MK.41 has 3,43 m.
Its height or what i would have called length is 2 m with Midas and 2,62 m for the MK 41.
It length (what i called height) surpasses even the MK.57 with 0,1 m so 8 m for Midas and 7,9 m for the MK.57.

Can it also take ESSM? Because if it can then each cell should be the same diameter as in the MK.41 which makes this VLS quite good.

SUB launched Anti air missile in development -
The infographic states that air defence missiles can be launched from the capsule in addition to anti-ship missiles. The self-defence of submarines against ASW helicopters has been brought up in the past two decades with developments like the fibre-optic/IIR-guided IDAS missile.

The idea is to have a missile that can be controlled through a fibre-optic cable from the launch capsule communicating with the submarine to acquire low-flying aircraft.

The submarine can guide the missile with its periscope or send commands to the missile when it detects sonar emissions from a helicopter. In addition to IDAS being the only missile to be developed for submarine-based air defence, the IDAS programme being run under a consortium that includes ROKETSAN might give some hints on the characteristics of the Hisar Derin missile.

To obtain these capabilities, “a lot of” underwater launch tests will be necessary, especially when this is a new field for Turkiye. To ease up this process, TÜBİTAK SAGE has developed the underwater launch testbed DATA which can be used in different depths.

While it will be a challenge for the industry to develop submarine-based missiles, payoff in the form of stand-off attack capability against enemy ships and land targets will be a strategic advantage that only a few countries possess.

For certain environments, where the sub cannot easily go deep to break contact, it makes sense. Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Med.
I suppose it could be used for such purpose, however this is a launch mechanism for development purposes of sub launched munitions

Interestingly, they test launch an inert UGM-84 capsule
