The Muppes on Lost of Tim Curry
The Muppets have released a statement on the tragic passing of Tim Curry.
“Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry.
As a performer, he was unparalleled – witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny.
We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew.
Thank you for everything, Tim.”

While I wasn't expecting this sad bit of news I'm not surprised that he's died as he had suffered a major stroke* in 2012 and while he survived the stroke the damage to his brain left him confined to a wheel-chair forcing him to retire from acting (Which was sad as he was a talented actor).

Tim Curry has died. The actor is best known for his cult classic roles in films such as ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and ‘Clue,’ as well as the first on screen portrayal of Stephen King’s ‘Pennywise’ the 1990 miniseries ‘It.’ He was 80 years old, and lived the last stretch of his life using a wheelchair after a debilitating stroke in 2012.

*I was shocked and surprised when I saw a video interview of him last year post-stroke showing him confined to a wheel-chair.

He played the eccentric butler in the 1985 film "Clue" and was outstanding.

I also recall the maid was rather fetching

RIP

Regards,
To me, He was outstanding in every intense performance he delivered, but his acting in The Rocky Horror Show is forever seared in my brain. Requiescat in pace, kind Sir.

Just watched his interview a couple of weeks back ... with many commented that they thought the video popped up because he has passed on ... it seems this time, he is really gone .... R.I.P.....

He was outstanding in IT. TBH the newer version isn’t a patch on the 1990 version and lot of that is down his portrayal of Pennywise the clown. Let alone his many other great performances in his career.

R.I.P.

That's fucking hilarious:D, I wonder what Mick Jagger thought of the parody?

He was outstanding in IT

I didn't watch all of the mini-series when it came out (I'm not a fan of horror films) but he did an excellent job of portraying Pennywise as the evil, creepy, sinister and just outright sadistic and vile daemon Pennywise was.

You know what they say: Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad. Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle. And this'll help things turn out for the best. And...

Always look on the bright side of life!

Rest in peace, King Arthur.

E! News has a short video out about the cause of Tim Curry's death:

One week after Tim Curry, Rocky Horror Picture Show star, died at the age of 80 on Aug. 25, his cause of death has been attributed to coronary artery disease, per documents obtained by People from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The documents, according to the outlet, also noted stroke and kidney cancer as conditions that contributed to his death, but that did not result in the underlying cause of the actor's passing. Indeed, 14 years before his death Curry suffered a stroke that required brain surgery. In October 2025, Curry detailed his long road to recovery on CBS Sunday Morning. “I had to learn how to speak again,” the Clue actor explained at the time. “That was very weird. I hated not being able to speak.” The left side of his face also became paralyzed, he noted: “My face kind of went sideways.”

Basically the poor guy was in very bad shape at the end, at least now he's no longer suffering.
