Y'all 70 years late to realize, missed the memo 50 years ago, and missed the train when people started buying fertile land 20 years ago across the globe.
Nothing more to see or do. Just forget it and move on. Death is set for everyone one way or another. It's bliss to stay ignorant. So do as I say, not as I do.

It all seems more and more like this weird cult or religion that has gripped Silicon Valley, that every day seems more divorced from reality, and especially the impact it’s having on the majority of ordinary people.

to keep all eggs in one basket is not a good idea.
to put some eggs on different place is more safe
places like the Moon or Mars are perfect for this...
 
I think they should all hop into their rockets and try to reach Mars, too. That would at least be an exit with a bang - the final steps, and at the same time, the maximum expansion of humanity in the universe.
 
Seriously folks, no need to go that far. There is a great place they can go with zero complaints or social upset. The present neighbours do have one unpleasant affectation though. Apparently the sea birds on Rockall like to throw their own personal waste at close neighbours when they get too much.

They can Shirley handle a big tidal variance too.

What is going to happen is this:

Society collapses, and the rich retreat to bunkers--who were built by Mike Rowe types.... who left a hidden back entrance for their families to use.

The problem comes when the billionaires start seeing the bunker option as preferable to contemporary society. Sort of 'The Man in the Deep Castle'.

Frankly, if a whole bunch of billionaires suddenly, permanently relocated without a trace into various luxurious underground digs, that might actually be a net *positive* for humanity...
