Ayup. Tested by NASA (maybe NACA, memory's fuzzy), but the true history of the design is murky. It's unclear if it was a NACA/NASA dsign, or if it came from industry. However, as can be seen in the diagram to the right, it is suspiciously similar in concept and layout to several Convair configurations.
