FLIGHT TESTING THE NORTH AMERICAN UNMANNED X-10

THE SPACE SHUTTLE ORBITER DRAG PARACHUTE by Charles Lowry
QUARTER-SCALE SPACE SHUTTLE MODEL by Stan Barauskas
MUSTANG -THE TRUE BIRTHRIGHT by Lowell Ford
NAA AWARDS AT THE U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY by Ed Rusinek
In the 70's North American Downey had an Open House to show off progress on the Space Shuttle. I did not work there but went anyway and the most fascinating display was the quarter scale model of the complete stack that was used to do vibration testing. It is the biggest, most impressive and beautifully made model I have ever seen. I had seen no reference to it until Paul scanned these NAA retiree newsletters and Stan Barauskas piece on it appeared in the Summer 2009 edition. It was too beautiful to scrap and aparently was displayed in Canada. Does anyone know where it is now?

Hello,

I'm writing a book on the Apollo 1 fire. My grandfather, a former North American Aviation employee, is the last remaining survivor from the scene of the accident. If anyone has contacts with former North American folks I would love to be put in touch. My contact info is below. Here for any questions. Thank you!

Best,

Here you go.
Hello good Sir, Re the MQM 42.... Per the attached, I understand this drone utilized two differert Marquardt ramjet engines...one for high and one for low altitude. I don't see how Marquardt could come up with just one design with such disparities in air density.
Best regards, Kevin
