We are pleased to announce that NordSpace has been assigned a launch authorization spanning September 20 - 27, 2025. As we embark on our mission to launch Canada’s first fully commercial rocket, our launch crew will be heading to NordSpace’s spaceport, the Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) SLC-02, in Newfoundland and Labrador this weekend to begin site and rocket preparations.

This historic launch from Canadian soil of our Taiga sub-orbital rocket, powered by our 3D printed Hadfield engines, will represent a massive leap forward for Canadian sovereignty, prosperity, and security and for assured access to space. Our technologies and infrastructure are all being designed to scale to medium-lift, responsive, and reusable launch vehicles.

Long days and even longer nights, relentless testing, fast problem solving, and our blood, sweat and tears have allowed us to come so close to launch so quickly.

At NordSpace, we fundamentally believe the most successful version of our future as a company and as a nation is a truly Canadian end-to-end space missions capability. This is exactly what we’re building, and we thank you for your support.

Launch crews will begin preparations at 02:30 NDT on Sep. 21 (Sunday). There is an estimated 30% chance of acceptable conditions early in the morning, which is a target for launch should conditions be deemed acceptable by the Range Safety Officer (RSO) and Launch Director (LD).

A final go/no-go for launch for Sep. 21 (Sunday) will be made at 05:30 NDT. All spectators viewing the launch in-person are required to follow NOTAMS and NAVWARNS for air, land and sea, and are encouraged to review the FAQ on our website.

The livestream will commence at 06:30 NDT if a no-go condition has not been issued at 05:00 NDT. Although our vehicles can operate safely at far greater wind speeds, Canada's current rocket launch regulations do not permit launches if wind speeds (including gusts) are in excess of 30 km/h (8.33 m/s).
