Jet Powered Bf-109

I cannot recall exactly but my recollection is that this was a paper project that was a 'hail mary' if Me 262 production hit too many roadblocks. I doubt there was anything more than a prelim study done.

There is no known primary source evidence for a 109 TL. Schick dates the project January 20, 1943. The Luft46 entry says the design was presented at an RLM conference on January 22, 1943. There is no known record of any RLM conference actually taking place on January 20 or 22, 1943.

However, in an account of a meeting on January 8, 1943, there IS a reference to a general meeting on fighters DUE to take place on January 22, 1943.

This, unfortunately, is about as close as it's possible to get to corroborating the existence of a Bf 109 TL. Apart from this one mention of a scheduled meeting, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that anything in any account of the Bf 109 TL is 'real'.

Did Schick have some sort of document detailing a 109 TL? Maybe a handout or data sheet intended for that meeting on January 22? Unknown. If he did, he doesn't seem to have ever shared it with anyone else and there's nothing available anywhere else on it.

If it was a 'real' project, it must have consisted of a single drawing or maybe just, as mentioned, a data sheet or perhaps some projected performance graphs and calculations - in other words, a brief study that was quickly disgarded.
