Every cloud has a sliver lining I suppose:
In the past few weeks the space station has been purposely simulating communications delays and downtimes to see how the crew on a future Mars mission would handle the interruptions, NASA spokesman Josh Byerly said.

Tuesday's loss of communication was not part of those tests, but may prove useful, he added.

He's absolutely right, I think. And generally, that shouldn't have come totally unexpected. Just seen a statistic
(they can prove anything, I know), stating that "Software updates", "upgradings" and other fiddling with the
system have overtaken actual physical faults as "fatal errors" in communication systems.
If your mobile can't connect to the network, the reason isn't always a dead zone ! ::)
