Can't locate any info online. Saw a humvee going down the road on a flatbed truck that was covered in 3 dimensional hexogonal tiles. I seem to recall seeing something like this armor plating before online but can't find it. There was another vehicle on the flatbed that was all covered up very well and larger than the hummer.

What is this type of armor? Anyone?

Most likely LAST armor.

Agreed. For folks not familiar with it (I wasn't), LAST is a system of adhesive-backed ceramic tiles that can be applied to light vehicles. The HMMWV kit also has some other bits like an armored tailgate, floor pan, and improved seats.

The old LAST for Humvees were 'monolithic' panels attached with velcro-like fastners. I wonder why the change?

The hexagonal shape reminds me of the Foster-Miller LAST panels on Canadian AVGPs in Bosnia two decades back. But, a rubbery fabric cover went over top of those LAST tiles. I guess these new ones don't need a protective covering?
