I'm still not sold on the idea of moving armor plates around... Moving armor plates, as if a hoplite's shield, still need to be attached and supported somewhere, which means either a pivot point supporting their weight and any impact forces, or a rail doing the same. Both are vulnerable to damage that would then prevent the shield from moving.
And jumping an RPG shot is just bull. Effective engagement range of an RPG is about 300m, maybe 400. You'd need to jump a good 10m into the air to clear the predicted flight path adequately, which means a minimum jump acceleration of about 40m/s/s between sensor and jump system reaction time and RPG time-of-flight. RPGs travel about 350m/s, so for simplicity we'll say you have a 1sec time of flight. Now you need a half second for sensors to see the incoming and jump system to react and launch you out of the line of fire. In order to move 10m in 1/2sec, you need an instant acceleration of 40m/s/s. A bit over 4 gees. 4 gees is survivable. But how close do you want to be jumping RPGs? ~50m, which means ~125ms time-of-flight? Now you need to a sensor/jump system reaction time of about 60ms to move 10m in 1/16 of a second, which means an acceleration of about 320m/s/s, over 32 gees. That's "car crash" levels of acceleration!
*60ms reaction time is probably doable on the sensor side, but I'm not sure about the jump system side without using explosives to drive the legs in a jump...
