Something that had been on the cards for some time but which passed relatively unnoticed in Britain, at Christmas BAE Brough finally bowed out of aircraft production after 104 years. Brough of course became the home of Blackburn Aircraft, one of those companies who had ups and downs (maybe more downs than ups) but Brough somehow avoid the fate of many aircraft factories and kept going.
Now the staff who are left will work on other engineering projects such as Dreadnought and Tempest. Whether bits of Tempest might be built there one day is an unknown as yet.
