[4] Taifun
Following the development of a liquid-fueled rocket capable of engaging high-flying enemy formations, the Chef TLR/FLAK-E-4 issued an order to the Skoda company in early August to develop a launch rack for the rocket, utilizing the stationary 8.8 cm Flak 37 carriage. Completion of the first prototype: December 1, 1944. The Skoda company subsequently received an additional contract to design a launch rack utilizing a carriage of its own design.

- Lafette 37 (8.8 cm Flak 37, ortsfest) for Taifun F and Taifun P
- Sonderlafette (Cauldron-type - Kesselform)
The number of rockets must be reduced from 60 to 42 due to the overall width of the unit in its transport configuration. Proposed use of the turret ring bearing from the Panzer II. Škoda to manufacture two prototypes.

Now that it has been definitively established that the production of the Taifun launcher currently under development is to be undertaken immediately at Mittelwerke, work has commenced on the development and preparation of manufacturing documentation for the following projects:
- Burckhardt Single Launch Tube
- double, quadruple, and octuple Launch Rails
- Design for Multiple Launcher (Lafette 37)
- Design for Special Mount (Sonderlafette)

9.) The design for a multiple launcher—featuring a straight flat-iron construction—submitted by the firm Behrens (Ahlfeld/Leine) was evaluated by the Chef TLR Flak E-3 and Flak E-5 for potential simplification for mass production, and a prototype was commissioned.

10.) During the meetings held on March 9, 1945, at MAN-Gustavsburg, the design guidelines were established.
On February 23, 1945, MAN submitted two preliminary designs.
a.) Retaining the existing cauldron shape (Kesselform); however, the ball-bearing ring is to be replaced by roller discs fitted with needle bearings. The controls for the elevation and traverse mechanisms, as well as for firing, are housed within the cauldron.
b.) Design featuring a fixed pivot. The upper carriage is configured as a flattened cauldron structure and rotates around the pivot on simple plain bearings. By flattening the cauldron, the overall width of the mount can be reduced, or the number of rocket rails can be increased. Housing of controls: as per option a.).
A decision is to be reached on March 21, 1945, and a prototype ordered.
