I took note that:
1. Izumo Class (Izumo and Kaga) = ITS Cavour
2. Hyuga Class (Hyuga and Ise) = (former) ITS Garibaldi
3. Osumi Class (Osumi, Shimokita and Kunisaki) = San Giorgio Class (San Giorgio, San Marco and San Giusto)
4. A future JS LPH that matches the current ITS Trieste?
Considering that all the above Italian ships were launched well before the Japanese ones, did it is my impression or there is some mirroring in them?
At least in terms of general architecture, mass and dimensions.
Their roles and doctrines, obviously, are quite different.
