Those who research the USN Cruiser force or fond of the Brooklyn class, know that out of 9 ships that were built (in 2 sub-classes: 7 Brooklyn and 2 St. Louis) 1 were lost in WW2: USS Helena in 1943, 2 were scrapped in 1959 and 1960 (USS Honolulu and Savannah respectively) while the other 6 were sold to South American navies a few years after World War 2 ended:

Armada de la República Argentina:
USS Phoenix as ARA 17 de Octubre and from 1955 ARA General Belgrano between 1951-1982
USS Boise as ARA Nueve de Julio between 1951-1983

Marinha do Brasil:
USS Philadelphia as Almirante Barroso between 1951-1973/74
USS St. Louis as Almirante Tamandaré between 1951-1976

Armada de Chile:
USS Brooklyn - as O'Higgins or CNS O'Higgins between 1951-1991
USS Nashville - as Capitan Prat or CNS Capitan Prat and from 1982 Chacabuco between 1951-1984/85

I wish to know more about the service of these ships in their foreign navies especially what equipment changes were made during their extended carriers.
First I wish to know more about USS Brooklyn's Chilean service as O'Higgins!

Maybe the forum members could help me regarding this matter?

About O'Higgins ex USS Brooklyn I have these photos, sadly not of the highest quality and they show some changes on the ships in Chilean service but not much details can be seen.
