I would just like to add that I find my German engineered 1950's tech (1970 built) VW type 3 to be one of the things in life that makes me smile when 'stuff' hits the fan. It may not be the finest handling car but as James Hunt had his favourite car (An Austin A-35 van) because its lack of ability made having fun in it less likely to remove his license, I have mine for the same reason. Perhaps major car makers can think of this when they are adding more and more, ahem, powargggggggh. Sorry Top Gear fans.

I feel it important to state that my car is yellow and with the carburetor throttle body tension adjuster fitted (An elastic band), accelerates both halves of the engine properly. Nice enough.
