Yes and no. There's still no increase in the US Navy's submarine build rate or repair/maintenance 'rate', even for existing types and new classes are making increased demands on resources. If the US Navy is serious about the numbers of operational boats they want by 2050, somethings gotta give.Yeah, I've already commented previously but this is the exact same language from the previous CRS report:
It's just ragebait, apparently the anti-AUKUS crowd isn't big on reading and needs the freakin Guardian to read things for them.
All you can do is shrug and let them seethe, they don't know what they're talking about.
Ditto for the UK's submarine manufacturing pipeline.
I suspect we'll find, as the years slide by and build rates continue to languish, that those other options will start moving towards the front of the briefings.
