1930s aircraft designer William Nichols

Bit of a longshot but I am looking for information on a 1930s British aircraft designer named William Nichols, M.Inst B.E. Born in 1900 and certainly active as an aircraft designer in 1933/34, probably freelance, and described himself as an aircraft designer in 1939. Lived in Norfolk/Cambridgeshire but does not appear to have been associated with Boulton and Paul.
