    Sikorsky aircraft patents

Hi, Sikorsky designed an unknown tilt-propeller aircraft in 1996; http://www.google.com/patents?id=n7cZAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4&dq=Dornier+design+of+airplane&num=100#PPP1,M1

CiTrus90's 3D Drawings of Unbuilt Aircraft

Sikorsky has done a number of tilt rotor and tilt wing projects. Was it a design study for the Army (assumed)? Likely. A real project... Well probably not.

    Unknown Sikorsky tiltwing VTOL concept

RBW is Rotor-Blown Wing, Sikorsky's tail-sitter concept for the DARPA VTOL X-Plane program. The manned tilt-wing version is new. http://m.aviationweek.com/blog/sikorskys-rotor-blown-wing-look-familiar

JMR (Joint Multi-Role) & FVL (Future Vertical Lift) Programs

I appreciate the link, still getting used to this site somewhat. I do recall the rotor blown wing DARPA x-plane which is essentially a tilt wing without the fuselage... with one distinction is that Sikorsky's tail sitting rotor blown wing had a flapping rotor head as opposed to a rigid propeller...

    Bell 360 Invictus (FARA program)

While Bell has its tilt rotor program for the army running, the cancellation must be a real blow for Sikorsky.

I'm familiar with Sikorsky's variable diameter tilt rotor approach... but not any tilt wing designs. Any references? Thanks!

    Sikorsky X2 family

It surprised a lot of people to learn that Sikorsky has a long history of work on tilt-rotor, tilt-wing and compound rotorcraft. Witness their recent work on the JHL program. Sikorsky's X-2 work is a prime example of this companies willingness to "go it alone." I was at a forum several years...

    Sikorsky HEX/VTOL

Given the trends and Sikorsky's experiance (albeit mostly retired) with tilt-wing, I am not suprised they are trying this route.

    Aerospace art request

When I originally posted it I was pretty sure that it was a Sikorsky effort. However before being bought out and becoming "Apache-uber-alles" at Mesa, McDD had done a lot of work on tilt wing. There was nothing other than a paper copy of a briefing that did not have any specifics about who had...
