Sikorsky has done a number of tilt rotor and tilt wing projects. Was it a design study for the Army (assumed)? Likely. A real project... Well probably not.

I do recall the rotor blown wing DARPA x-plane which is essentially a tilt wing without the fuselage... with one distinction is that Sikorsky's tail sitting rotor blown wing had a flapping rotor head as opposed to a rigid propeller...

Given the trends and Sikorsky's experiance (albeit mostly retired) with tilt-wing, I am not suprised they are trying this route.
