Bets against SpaceX grow to 32% of float as Elon Musk warns short sellers won’t survive

https://www.cnbc.com/2026/07/21/bet...on-musk-warns-short-sellers-wont-survive.html

As the company has set 4 August as its first earnings report since going public, that date also triggers its first share lock-up release.

That will let insiders sell up to 911.5 million shares.

Will be interesting to see what occurs as highly likely the report will have the same trademark BS as Tesla has in it's over the years.

Musk's X adds Money banking service under 'everything app' push

https://www.thestandard.com.hk/world/article/338403/Musks-X-adds-banking-in-everything-app-push

Ahead of its launch, the service drew scrutiny in Washington.

In an April 14 letter, Senator Elizabeth Warren, the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, pressed Musk on how X Money would "generate revenue sufficient to pay that yield."

She also cited past FDIC enforcement actions against Cross River over lending practices.

Pretty funny about previous FDIC enforcement actions............

Just going to try and mix X, Tesla, SpaceX, SpaceX Ai all together to try and stop the bleed out.

SpaceX stock drops after first earnings report as AI costs soar: Live updates

https://www.cnbc.com/2026/08/04/spacex-spcx-earnings-live-updates-q2-2026.html

SpaceX reported just $7.81 billion in revenue, and it is supposedly worth $1.6 Trillion.

While total CapEx is $18.4 billion, SpaceXAI accounts for $15.8 billion or 85%.

Dumpster fire, stock will be below 100 in no time as the share lock-up is opened as well.

Stock opened at 14.53, closed at 15.98 after hours after a high of 126.71.

SpaceX reported $18.67 billion in annual revenue alongside a net loss of $4.94 billion heavily weighed down by Starship R&D and AI investments.

Now they have just dropped 60 bil to buy Cursor, as Grok has been a disaster as Musk pushed out all 10 of his xAI co-founders within two years. They then rented out Colossus because they were not using it, burning money.

Google and Anthropic pay about 2.2 bil a month, until something else comes along.

Google paid about $900 million for a SpaceX stake in 2015 that is now worth roughly $140 billion and also holds close to 14% of Anthropic and a majority of Waymo, basically two of the hottest names in AI and robotaxis. The twisted web we weave, with ac installation service being another example of how different business interests can sometimes overlap. AKA circular financing.........

Goldman Sachs who led the IPO, based its numbers on xAI revenue growth and has now said xAI revenue will go to 322 bil by 2030, musk says 1 tril in the same period.

Goldman pitched the SpaceX IPO as an AI play (some starlink) and little else.

And their AI track record has been a shocker, that also eats cash non-stop.

Could the space aspirations fall away just like Telsa?

Regards,
I think the key issue is whether the various businesses can continue funding their ambitions without SpaceX’s core space and Starlink operations carrying too much of the burden. Starship and AI both require enormous amounts of capital, so priorities could change if the economics don’t develop as expected. That said, I wouldn’t assume SpaceX is abandoning its space goals based on these numbers alone. Starlink provides a substantial commercial business alongside the launch operation, and the IPO disclosures should give a much clearer picture of where the money is actually going and how sustainable the spending is.
