Interesting picture from some YouTube ghost hunters doing some Area 51 skywatching. Matches some of the artwork here pretty well. The shovel nose looks like it could correlate with the F-47 announcement renderings. It is missing the exhaust plume, so that raises questions about the veracity of the image.

The overall wing planform looks pretty similar. Based on the asymmetry of the planform in the thermal image, the wingtips there could be drooped like the render. The thermal image has significantly more "serration" along the trailing edge of the wings and fuselage. The canards are set farther back than the render, almost but not quite like close-coupled canards. The wide nose profile looks similar.

The closest render I've seen is this one, although the thermal image shows canards that are larger and set farther aft along the fuselage.

Remember that thermal imagers have absolutely terrible sensor resolution. Good/High end ones are in the neighborhood of 640x480.

Looks more like an updated and modified version of the DBC Stealth Interceptor (1983).
Unless that impression from the still image is skewed by atmospheric distortions.

Uncanny Expedition is one serious Channel realy interesting, the fact is that the F-47 demonstrator is surely flying in Area 51.

Some doubts were mentioned in the comments regarding the absence of a visible exhaust plume, using it as evidence of the image being fake or showing new advanced thermal management technologies. Otteson posted as comparison an image of a fighter jet captured in similar conditions, which similarly did not show the exhaust plume.

As a further explanation, another user said that the thermal device might do some automated image processing internally, which might have removed the exhaust. The wavelength might be another reason for the missing exhaust.

We've entered the era when photos and videos can't be accepted as evidence of anything real. With AI, such a simple shape with an uncomplicated background is so easy to fake that anyone could do it. Ironically, this makes actual real-world security much easier, since anything that inadvertently leaks out can just be condemned as a fake and so the real thing's existence is automatically called into question. Truly a double-edged sword.

The only thing I will add more to this is that it DOESNT exactly match the RC plane. The rearward sweep on the main wing doesn't coincide with the latter. Also the canard has a great aft sweep where the rc model is closer to 90°. Note the wing area as well, not to forget the trailing edge of the aircraft does match Rodrigo Avellas models instead of almost flat with exhaust protrusions.

IMO, at best it might be an X/YF-47. If that. Consider how much the F-22/35 changed for production. Personally, I'd be surprised if anything like that is flying though.

The Uncanny Expedition is a very serious channel , the person is credible , so at a time we must do more analysis than critical, it is the third mysterious shape since the satellite mystery plane0. Satellite mystery plane , Dorito and now this one , everybody speak about the F-47 but it could be something else, we still have no news about the Lockheed mystery highly classified program in the work. The F-47 demonstrator seem to be flying since 2020.....

Surely not I trust the person of Uncanny Expedition, it could be USAF intentional communication at a time of War to let people near Area 51 spotting demonstrators.

While I'm still very critical of the claims and still believe it's doctored and not genuine. I don't think the lack of a pronounced exhaust plume is the giveaway. Not only because of issues with regards to resolution, but shouldn't a demonstrator for a next generation jet fighter have superb thermal signature reduction measures? Previous stealth aircraft already dabbled in that.

I took a second look. It does have them. Adjust the light settings and you can see a twin IR trails just barely showing from the back. May be indicative of advances in IR management. It s very small but it is there.

I think twin exhaust plumes indicate this is likely to be a YF-47 analog rather than a NGAD demonstrator if real. It would make a lot more sense for a technology demonstrator to be equipped with a single engine for multiple reasons, and the timing means that most test and evaluation flights for the NGAD demonstrators should be finished.

Come to think of it, it looks a lot like the Airbus Loyal Wingman concept, photoshopped to make the trailing edge look like it's twin engined. It could be a real aircraft (manned or unmanned?) with twin engines of course, but the similarity seems too good to be a mere coincidence (aside from the engine nozzle location, the only difference is the canard trailing edge).

lol why everyone think that have to F-47? NGAD competition ended March 2025, F-47 EMD prototype is not yet ready.

It’s possible a F/A-XX prototype or CCA Inc2, since we don’t know how big it is, or the video is completely fake.

The opposite can also be true.

With the amount of renders and models that have been created in the past year since announcement, one of them is bound to get close from an overall planform standpoint. With the information/official renders available and using Boeing's past X-planes/studies as references, you can make a lot of educated guesses as to which directions the planform could go.
