And there was also an April fools day joke also on YouTube about Elite Dangerous going free, I had seen that it was a joke in the first two seconds of it playing and stopped it soon after.
 
Orva Industries of Canada are proud to introduce their contender for the competition to build Canada's next stealth fighter.
Orva's Worra jet fighter is powered by a pair of Bombardier 900 series engines that will produce a paint-blistering top speed of Mach 0.2! That pair of 4-cycle, air-cooled engines are mounted face-to-face so that their propellers rotate in opposite directions to minimize torque. IOW there is one pusher propeller and one tractor propeller buried in the center fuselage.
Range will be more than 200 kilometers, plenty for collecting those $100. hamburgers.
Worra's biggest advantage is its second seat that can accommodate anyone from a publicity-hogging politician to a controller for loyal wingman.
Sensors will include the traditional Mark 1 Eyeball.
Weapons include a series of rude hand gestures.
When asked about the Worra's radar signature, local air traffic controllers pleaded ignorance. Orva reassure us that their latest product is stealthy as mere fabric reflects few radar waves and aluminum tubes have been kept to a minimum to both reduce weight and radar returns.
Orva were deliberately vague when questioned about the Warro's first flight, but anticipate it happening sometime during in third quarter 2027 or later.

Orva is also developing several types of loyal wingman drones, but they are still on the drawing board.

STUNNING RESOLUTION TO FRANCO-GERMAN SQUABBLES

In an unexpected coup for European defense cooperation, today President Macron of France and Chancellor Merz of Germany announced a new path forward for the troubled Future Combat Air System (FCAS) and Main Ground Combat System (MGCS) programs.

This involves reorganizing each collaborative program to better match evolving threats and under new industrial leadership, thereby putting to bed the long-running disagreements between national champions Dassault and Airbus that had blocked progress.

The new FCAS will be an optionally manned stealth fighter based on Airbus's loyal wingman concept unveiled in 2024, under new German leadership. Airbus DS will act as design lead, leveraging a revolutionary AI design tool built by Helsing. "We have full confidence in German ingenuity and the power of AI to radically transform how combat aircraft are designed" declared Chancellor Merz, adding that both sides now recognized the need for a blank-slate and that past fighter design experience was a liability rather than an asset. "We are also proud to announce a name for this new fighter, "Stuka" ("Stealth-kampfflugzeug"). This recognizes German industry's historical strength in combat aircraft dating back over more than a century."

In a parallel move, France will be taking the lead design role for the MGCS future ground combat system. The new MGCS will be an 18 tonne light tank built under KNDS France design leadership. This recognizes the need for much lighter and more nimble armored vehicles given the modern threat environment. "Sacre bleu! Quel panache!" declared President Macron adding that in order to minimize size and meet the agressive weight goal he had accepted to serve as the human model around which the vehicle interior dimensions and ergonomics would be designed.

FCAS... and beyond
Notably absent from the proceedings was Dassault CEO Eric Trappier. A high placed French government source stated that he was too busy to attend, as he is already focusing on the future - space warfare - and would be shutting down Rafale fighter production imminently to make way for a revolutionary space fighter codenamed "Vortex C" ("Chasse"). Corroborating rumors from employees within Dassault's design offices have indicated a marked increase in Bordeaux wine shipments, with coffee machines being retooled to dispense a selection of Chateau Lafitte and Chateau Petrus wines at all times of the day and night.

Totally worth it. The US government spends trllions every year, another billion (or two) on such a clearly worthwhile project would be money well spent.
